Welders

Do you love welding? CQM is seeking Experienced Precision Welders!

CQM is a custom metal fabrication company and equal opportunity employer located in Aylmer Ont. We deliver various manufacturing solutions to companies and manufacture our own box blade line. We are working on adding other proprietary products to ensure work force stability. We are a rapidly growing company thriving thanks to our employee’s dedication to quality, on time delivery and customer service.

We are seeking experienced, motivated presicion welders to join our growing company. Our afternoon shift runs from 5 pm to 4 am Mon – Thursday. Our Dayshift runs from 7 am – 4:30 pm Mon – Thurs and 7am – 3:30pm Fri. Two 15-minute paid breaks and half hour unpaid lunch. We fallow the MOL heat break guidelines for additional breaks on hot and humid days.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produce good quality welds according to customer specifications and weld drawings
  • Occasionally will need to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Will need to be able to stand for up to ten and a half hours per shift.
  • Read and interpret blue prints.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience MIG welding.
  • TIG welding experience is an asset.
  • Fitting experience considered an asset.
  • Stainless steel and aluminum welding experience is valuable.
  • Robotic welder operation is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and take pride in your work.
  • Past CWB certification considered an asset.
  • Commitment to quality and workplace safety.

Compensation

  • Starting wages are based skill & experience determined after a weld test has been completed.
  • 2 x 15 min breaks paid

Plate Laser Operator

We are seeking a self-motivated, dedicated plate laser operator who desires to find a satisfying career with a growing company. Objective: Plate laser machine operator position safely performing laser cutting for a variety of manufacturing products.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform typical laser cutting operations.
  • Select proper cutting programs, tooling, and material.
  • Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
  • Make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
  • Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
  • Perform all dimensional inspections.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
  • May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • 1 year of laser operator experience.
  • Training in general safety, electrostatic discharge awareness.
  • Knowledge of operating software programs
  • Experience with fiber optic auto load auto unload plate laser
  • Maintenance of laser equipment
  • Over head crane experience is an asset
  • Fork lift experience is an asset
  • Foreign object damage awareness
  • Quality awareness.
  • Positive attitude with good personal and communication skills.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Approved safety work boots hearing protection and vision protection is required. This position will require coveralls as it will be quite dirty.

Physical Demands

The tube laser operators’ position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing during the shift. You must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Responsible for application of a liquid 2-part process epoxy paint.
  • Maintain a clean, well organized work area.

  • Very safety conscious and always use the available protective equipment and devices.

Metal Machine Inspection Foreman / Forewoman

We are seeking a dedicated metal machining inspection foreman/woman who desires to find a satisfying career with a growing company. This position will report directly to the owners of the company. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performing a full range of variable inspection and production-related tasks. Correction guidance, administrative duties including documenting and the method of correction of quality issues.
  • Setting high quality standards and capable of communicating those standards diplomatically.
  • Inspection work can include visual inspection, touch point inspection the use of measuring equipment to determine conformity of a part.
  • Lead rework projects, eliminate defects with parts which may include rejection and recycling.
  • Possible polishing and deburring or replacing components.

Essential Job Function

  • Supervision of quality inspection.
  • Leads quality improvement techniques and methods
  • Ensures all team members are working safely
  • Responsible for the availability and maintenance of proper equipment, tools and gauges
  • Communicates with customer contacts as needed on job requirements
  • Verifies compliance with procedures, policies and job site specific regulations
  • Completes required paperwork as needed for duration and completion of a project
  • Able to manage a wide range of projects and communicate with a variety of clients.

Job Requirements

  • Effectively operate electronic measurement equipment such as coordinate measuring tools.
  • Familiar with MS Office and able to use other computer programs such as Excel and Outlook on a daily basis
  • Lift a minimum of up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure.
  • Capable of providing training of other team members and production staff.
  • Communicate effectively with all other fabrication and production team members.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a lead hand in manufacturing environment

We are seeking experienced, motivated welders with robotic experience to join our growing company. The position is for the afternoon shift that runs from 4:30 pm to 4 am Mon – Thursday. Two 15-minute paid breaks and half hour unpaid lunch. We fallow the MOL heat break guidelines for additional breaks on hot and humid evenings. You must supply your own welding helmet and approved safety workboots.

  • Will need to be able to stand for up to ten and a half hours per shift.

  • Programming experience is an asset.
